| The Need |
|
Most of our children have had little in the form of love and care, and have lived in terrible poverty, with death all around them. Some have lost both parents to AIDS. Some have one parent living that is HIV+ and can no longer care for them. When the kids come to us, they are underweight, pale and downtrodden. But there IS HOPE and this is what we can share and offer! We wrap our arms around them and begin showing them love and compassion in a stable environment. Yunnan is one of China's relatively undeveloped provinces and has one of the highest percentages of HIV/AIDS in the country. There are hundreds of AIDS orphans waiting for an opportunity to live in one of our homes. This keeps us excited and encouraged to continue moving forward. With permission to take up to 60 children, Mother’s Heart has room to grow! Please hold us in your thoughts as we plan to buy land and build at least four Children’s Homes. Because of the dire need in this area we feel it is important to become sustainable…with land and homes and a farm. We also care for around a dozen widows. Some of them are the children’s mothers who are living with AIDS. Others are the widowed grandmothers that have no pension and little cash income. And some are widows or abandoned women with small children in dire need of help. We feel blessed to be of support to these neediest women and children! |
